Ok, So I couldn't stay away that long. I have hashed some things out and I seem to feeling a bit better.

A couple of weeks ago we did a modeling session with a great photographer in Milwaukee. Here is the link to our pics.

One of the reasons why we are walking for Children's Hospital

I first want to start by saying, "THANKS" to all of you who donated money for our walk this Saturday.

Most of you know (only because my blog has been my outlet) that my younger set of twins have craniosynostosis. Carson has sagital synostosis and Cooper has sagital & metopic synostosis.

A few of you have asked what cranio is and how it affects my children. Craniosynostosis is premature closure of the skull bones. They fuse before the brain has a chance to grow. Most children with cranio end up having something called a " cranio vault repair". The surgeons go in and surgically "make room" so the brain has room to grow normally.

Sagital synostosis is the fusion on the bones that run down the middle of the skull. With that fused, your brain can only push the bones forward and backwards, not side to side. This is what sagital synostosis looks like before surgery. The Doctors call them "toaster heads" because they look like a toaster.

This is what it looks like 4 days after surgery.

The surgeons perform a zig zag incision, they take out parts of the skull, (they widen it) and they place it back together with plates and screws.

After 1 year, areas of bone that had been removed should close. Except if you are my kids.

Here is what the CT scan of Carson's skull looks like.

All the dark grey spots are open areas.

Here's Cooper's.
This picture shows everything GREAT! You can see the fused suture down the middle of his head, and you can see the areas they took out and still have not closed
This picture you can see where his plates and screws are along the sides of his head.

And this picture shows the lumpy ridges in his forehead that Dr. Jensen is concerned about.

So, This is why we are fundraising and walking for children's hospital. As you can see, my kids still have a ways to go. I need to know that that they are getting the BEST possible care out there.

He did it!!!

Today was Keegan's first day of school. He did it without shedding a tear!
I was so afraid of a repeat from last year( cried for 2 weeks every time I left him), but NO!! I was so happy to see him excited to be at school. Here are a few pics.

First day of school, First day of school....

Ok everyone - Miss Riley made it through her first day of school all by herself, and we have PROOF!

You just might be a bad mom if....

You leave your 4 yr olds fully loaded backpack in the same room while your 22 month old is trying to take a nap!!

Like the new colors? This is what happens when a 4 yr old picks the colors. At least it's fall like.

Oh yes we did

Last night, Riley had be complaining that she wanted her hair shorter. I was a little hesitant, but I graciously agreed to it. So, today at noon we were right where we were on Tuesday. Riley was sitting on the blue carousel horse, watching sponge bob, while Becky was chopping more hair off.
Preschool, watch out for this little lady!!! I had also told Riley a couple of weeks ago, that after Carson was all through with her tube surgery, we could get her ears pierced. WELL, today just happened to be the day!! (not a great picture - that little bugger wouldn't sit still for anything!)
Good Job Carson!! You look so pretty!

Eat, Drink, and try not to gain an ounce

Did you know.......It is MY FAVORITE TIME OF THE YEAR!

That's right, It's Football season! I love nothing more than to put on a great pair of sweats, make some chili, cuddle up with a nice warm blanket, and sit on the couch to watch football!! Well, maybe this year it will be in our new GIGANTIC bean bag chair! Who knows.

After week 1, the Badgers have moved up the polls to #5!!! No thanks to the AWESOME loss that Michigan had to Appalachian State!!! I believe they called it,"All time Upset!"

Where the hell is that anyways? Anyone ever heard of it? Maybe I should be researching it because they did Wisconsin and the Big Ten a HUGE favor!

Wisconsin football is a great tradition. I can remember going to Badger games when we were little and waiting ever so patiently for the 5th quarter to start. What other college football team has a 5th quarter?? If you have never experienced a Badger 5th quarter, you better add it to your list of things TO DO before you die. It's a must do!

So that's Saturday.

Sunday is our day to watch Packer football! Ok, so last year wasn't so great, and everyone was telling Brett Favre to retire. All I can say is, at least he is not out fighting dogs. Now Cow tipping, that's a whole different story.

It's a battle in our house though. Matt is a BEARS fan!!! Now, being as far north as we are, luckily for me, they don't televise many Bears games here, but when they do, it's a challenge. Do you put the kids in orange and blue or Green and gold? Their Favre jersey or Driver's?

But, the main thing is, If you are a Packers fan, you know the saying still holds true........ The Bears still SUCK!

Oh yah, here are a few pictures of Riley's Pre Preschool haircut!!
